“relating to a popularization of the Art Deco style marked by bright colours and geometric shapes.”
In creating a vibrant active and exciting environment for a large range of persons of the gallery, the life span of the building is extended.
The designer believes that the key to preserving the architectural/historical value of a heritage building can be found in the flexibility and
extent of the appeal of the end design that keeps the integrity of the building in tackt. By rehabilitating the Art Deco building, the structure and design of the building is kept while a new life and purpose is given to the building.
It’s important to appeal to a large target audience and meet the needs of the community. By ensuring the space is capable of hosting an array of events from dinner parties at art reveals to talks by influential artists as well as updated interactive and educational events for the youth that actually appeal to them, the building becomes a hub of artistic energy that will keep the essence of the heritage building and its story alive. In the proposed design, the basic needs of the brief and design problem is met while new life is breathed into the space through its social interactive and adaptive spaces.
